The wedding planner called me a week before to tell me we weren't having chairs... tried to change the patio set up we discussed... and tried to cut my servers... One call to her daughter and all was fixed with NUMEROUS apologies from her daughter for her mother's horrible behavior.
The toilet clogged on us about 2 hours before guests started arriving so we had to get a plunger...
We some how crammed 16 people and kiddos into a 700 square foot condo and managed to BBQ and have a fabulous time...
We went to the local zoo and had a picnic and played Frisbee...
The wedding photographer e-mailed and said if things run late we can get a half hour of extra photography for $80 or $160 for an extra hour (way cheaper then the wedding planner wanted to charge us) and she said we can play it by ear if we need to so we can make the decision on the spot.
Rehearsal and rehearsal dinner went well. (although my mom and sister started fighting in the parking lot with me when his family was out of ear shot. Apparently my mom felt "floored" during the rehearsal that "my bro" was giving me away and that "she" wasn't... despite knowing for the last 6 years and being told 19 times since i got my diamond ring... AND knowing she had a mom/family thank you moment.)
- For those of you who were wondering, yes we paid for our rehearsal dinner and his family was incredibly thankful for it (they also let the bomb drop while we were at the zoo that they got us a hotel room for our wedding night that's near by our home since all the hotels by the wedding cite were booked.)
I'm so excited for you! I hope your friends are serious about escorting anyone off the premises that misbehaves before you even know anything is wrong. If not, remember it's your day. So if your mom and sister approach you with drama - stop them in their tracks. Tell them they have 2 options. They can go sit down and shut up or they can leave. Either way you don't want to hear what they have to say. Then leave them standing there and go enjoy the people who actually care more about you on your wedding day than themselves. Congratulations!!!!!!
