I've decided to do a no spend month

August.

I have no birthdays and no events that I know of... So for the month of AUGUST I wont buy anything frivolous.

Gasoline
Groceries
Bills (Electric, Cell, Internet, Mortgage, giving, Insurance)

Here's what August's budget should look like:

Mortgage (PMI & Prop Taxes) $828.38
Extra Mortgage Principle $81.75
Giving (LTG) $130.00
HOA $250.00
Gasoline & Car Maint $140.00
Groceries $150.00
Utility Bills (Cell, Electric, Internet) $150.00
Roth IRA $250.00
Insurance (Auto, Homeowner, Earthquake) $102.00
Emergency Fund $128.13
Giving (LTG) $130.00
Christmas $50.00

If all remains successful, I'll have $190 left to save ( from cutting piano lessons $40, Fun $50, Random unbudgeted money$100)! In addition to saving $50 for Christmas and $128.13 to my emergency fund.

I know in August I'll have $160 coming in from Puppy sitting... and i'm hoping that that and the $190 I'll save in August will cover that stop sign ticket I got.

  1. Does no spend month mean no starbucks or eating out? I want to try a no spend month too but I feel like I would fail. Where's my confidence?
