What we spent in December

I'm proud of the progress we have made in terms of getting back to basics now that I'm further along in my pregnancy. While I haven't taken too many pictures, I have been cooking much more from home (our eating out budget was only $123.68 in December-- our smallest amount in months!!!!) and we only went slightly over our grocery budget for the month, spending $349.53 since we bought some holiday treats and seasonal items and needed to change our grocery plan after shopping (didn't know I was feeding a gluten free Elder from our church so we had to re-plan.)

What helped us this month was the uber cheap gas prices that have been hitting the nation. It gave us a little buffer with the groceries and eating out so we could cash flow South County Boys car repairs. What I love is how little we spent on other things this month... I mean look how short the list is!

Bam... That's it. We really reined in the spending this month and I couldn't be prouder of my husband for doing so. He was a real trooper when I asked him if we could cash flow the car repairs and still try to get the emergency fund to our year ends goal. He in a word was fan-freaking-tastic. He helped me make dinner a few nights and was good about checking before spending money.
