April Kiva Loan! Tanzania

Saraya Salum, 43, is married with three children, ages 22, 22 and 14. She has had a grocery store and hotel since 1984. She works from 8 a.m. to midnight and is able to earn a monthly profit of about $652.

This will be Saraya’s second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the first loan to improve the hotel and has repaid the loan successfully. She hopes for a loan to start selling water, juice and sodas at wholesale prices.

Saraya will share this loan with her loan group, Obama, which totals 15 members. The members of the group hold each other accountable in paying back the loan.
