payday!

So i got paid today! which always makes coming to work better on 3 hours of sleep because you spent the evening with ur term paper more bearable.

After i pay the 778 to my car, put 200 in my gas account and save $50 bucks for mother's day [my mom wants a new bbq]

i only have 100.00 left over...

and since Dee and i are getting a couch handed down from her boyfriends step dad, i'm going to send it to my car.

who knows... maybe most of that 1,000 or so will be able to go to my car after all????

Auto Loan Payoff

With everything possibly changing... I had to re due the pay off schedule for my car... This will be the final payoff schedule that should only be altered for the better.... hopefully... i'm getting really tired of pushing everything back... it just makes me cringe.

Assuming that i only will pay 300 a month on the car and an extra 800 in aug... this is what it looks like...

  1. April: 4887.55
  2. May: 4621.15
  3. June: 4352.92
  4. July: 4082.85
  5. August: 3010.92
  6. September: 2731.62
  7. October: 2450.40
  8. November: 2167.25
  9. December: 1882.15
  10. January: 1595.09
  11. February: 1306.06
  12. March: 1015.04
  13. April: 722.02
  14. May: 426.98
  15. June: 129.92
  16. July: 0.00 paying 130.81

The only saving grace i have is that Job that starts in june... That they have been shafting me on my benifits... and the knowledge that i'm getting a raise in May.

Screw it... i'm not keeping this month's overtime... i'm done paying 34 dollars in interest a month!!!!

birthdays and holidays and part time jobs

With the month of may, always comes massive expenses... and i'm already starting to feel it... not only did i pick this month to move out, but it's also Hotel Boy, LineDancer, and Mo's birthday... plus mother's day... and i need to get $60.00 for my half of the bbq my mom wants... but it could be less.

It doesn't look like my "fun" account will be going towards relay for life... I'll be cleaning it out on birthday presents because there is no way i want my ef going below the 1,000.00

With the overtime on Friday's paycheck i'll be settling aside $60 for my mom for mom's day, and if i get off a bit cheaper i'll use part of that for mo's birthday too. LineDancer is done, and hotel boy will be done with this month's budget too.

after paying all the moving in costs... I have $1,100 left over in my moving out fund. If i pay next month's rent with that i'll be able to use my paychecks to cover my car and therefore i should be on track with the pay off schedule... but then i have no back up money... and no money for furniture... So i'm going to hold off and only send half of what i normally do, to give myself a buffer... and then the next month i should be able to send the rest.... and the rest of the overtime from this paycheck i'm not sure what i'm planning on doing with it... if there is any... lol

I hate surviving on Overtime...

Oh, and i'm pretty sure i nailed the part time gig. I'll start the first week in June... I still need to talk to Stephanie about pay and stuff like that... but i'll be helping with billing on one day, and events on the other... and i get to work with the older kids... woot!

car insurance yet again

okay, so i went ahead and moved the money that i was short for my auto insurance from my moving out fund to my car insurance fund at emigrant.

i know I have a little over 1,000 in my moving out fund for a small bit furniture and a safety net. If in a month, that money is still there (or most of it)... i'll send it to my auto loan.

This way i can continue to send overtime and the like towards my car... (and i won't have to worry about my Credit card bill...

It also looks like i'll be getting another rewards gift certificate curtisy of the car insurance... nice. I can only get $400 in rewards from my credit card a year. so far i've got 25... and have earned another $40. If i hit the 400 mark, i'll switch to my amazon CC and get amazon gift cards instead.

But i feel better knowing that in a week or so i'll be paying my auto insurance bill in full... no worries there... phew.

When Heather pays me for the computer, and when i get overtime and the like i can continue to send it off to my car.

movie with the boys

Last night i went to see HOT FUZZ ... great movie, used my last ticket from COSTCO... looks like i'm gonna have to make a COSTCO run for more movie tickets.

We stopped at CVS for some snacks before... and i kind of wanted some chocolate... so i went browsing with the boys... Ya, i went to the easter candy section... why... its 90% off... and its still chocolate.... why do i care if it's in the shape of a bunny and i'm going to eat it in the car... in the dark too... lol, i don't.

i got a nice small chocolate bunny for .13 cents... a nice chocolate fix if you ask me.

Auto Insurance

more spending... called the guy from AAA... for renters insurance and car insurance for the whole year:

196 = renters insurance ($17 a month)

1277= Auto Insurance , 47 membership card

total 1520.

I'm 885.95 short from this moment, actual cash in my hands... worse comes to worse, i have the money... just in my tuition account.

So much spending

I had to buy crap for my place... and i spent over $200!!!!! I took my friend beth with me and she talked me out of some non essentials... and some better buys luv her! I wanted to make sure i wasn't getting anything i didn't need to keep inline with my no shopping for a year with the exception of stuff for the new place.....I took the cash for this stuff out of the moving out fund. I still need cleaning supplies, tp, etc and i'm getting that with my basic necessities money for the month.

at Target: 185.04
  • 4 hand towels ---> i got hand towels that matched the towels i bought... all on sale, and i didn't get the matching face cloths because those were not necessary... but you need to dry ur hands, and i got 4 because i have to use laundry mats, so having a few eliminates laundry load days.
  • flatware tray---> cause i have flatware and i don't want to get cut when i go looking for a spoon
  • 4 large bath towels ---> thin so they fit into the laundry machine here, but i needed more. I only had like 4 towels and i used a lot of my mom's.
  • Toilet rug---> see below
  • bathroom rug---> because water on the floor isn't sanitary... and mats can be cleaned. i didn't get the toilet covers... those arn't a necessity.
  • colander---> cause i cook and value not being burned alive.
  • microwave---> cause i manly use it everyday
  • 12 face cloths---> bough cheap o ones that were tan for 3 bucks for all of them...
  • can opener---> need i say more
  • tumbler set---> i needed drinking glasses... got 12 for 7 dollars... and they are nice... i have large plastic ones for the boys.
  • 38 piece tupperware set---> cause this makes cooking easier and meals cheaper to cook in bulk
  • 2 flat ware sets---> i have plates for 8... so i got forks spoons, etc for 8... which is a normal amount of people i have come over once aweek
  • peeler---> cause some stuff needs to be peeled... i passed on a cheese grater... because i mainly buy my cheese already graded.
  • 2 cutting boards---> meat and fruit/veg
  • toaster---> cause i freeze my bread so it doesn't go bad..
Big Lots: 18.83
  • Mop--> to clean the floors the old fashioned way
  • mop replacement head---> to i can continue to
  • toilet brush---> duh
  • dish dryer stand thingy --> so i don't have to use the dish washer... which costs electricity
  • kitchen trashcan---> cause trash can is more sanitary then a leaky bag.

Cleaning supplies to be bought at COSTCO and the store.

I love having good credit

So, besides getting a call within hours of giving the lady the application for the apartment, i called Edison to turn on our electricity

this is what they told me...
because of your amazing credit, we will not require a
deposit to turn on your electricty. Just a $15.00 service fee"

Good thing i called and not dee (she has good credit... just not much of it) ... man i really wanna know what my credit score looks like! i know its good but i ran all my free reports in Aug last year and didn't stagger them... so i have to wait until then to get them. woot...

AAA is closed today, so i left a message with my rep guy who was nice... i'll find out the damage for that then.

So, on closing i'll owe $925.00 and Dee $775.00.. we need to get a mondey order or a bank cashiers check...

Do these take time to process??? I need it May first... so should i go down and do it next week... or can it wait till the following week?

I HAVE AN APARTMENT!!!

okie dokie everyone... i'm moving on May 1st.... We got the 2 bed, 2 bath apartment in the city i was living in before for 1450 a month plus Electric and cable...

Dee is paying 650 plus 1/2 the electric... i'm 800 plus 1/2 the electric.

I'll be taking the master and the garage, and when she gets her raise, well re-work out everything, but because i get the Master and the Garage and cause she makes less, i'll pay more.

Monday i'm calling AAA for the insurance rate, and for renters insurance... i re-registered to vote, changed my address at the Post Office, and I'm filling out the paperwork to remove my family from the gym membership (they can't have it for free since i don't live with them any more) and i'm adding Dee. I'm also going to call EDISON to set up our electricity. (we won't need a land line because we have cell phones... and after reading the pamphlet for cable... were gonna wait on that luxury until we have everything else and to see if we can afford it)

I'll be paying the Auto insurance and the renters Insurance upfront... i'm still working on all of that.... so the budget might change a bit...

Once i figure everything out, i'll re-examine the pay off schedule for my car...

I need to get a microwave, a toaster, tupperware, cleaning supplies, and flatware. Plus stuff for the bathroom.... looks like a trip to Costco, and walmart, and target are all in order...

okay.... payday... finally

So, after they took out a butt load of taxes, I was able to send $195.34 to my Car Insurance fund... from all the extra benifit money....

It all got eaten alive by taxes... So right now the car insurance account has $634.05...

  • i'll sell my comp to heather $200..... My next paycheck will have Overtime on it... I'll have the 25.00 from my CC $25 check... and if i put it on my CC i'll get 2% refunded back to me... and it will buy me an extra week or so if needed.... So for sure i know i'll have $859.... hopefully i'll be able to get the $541.00 by cutting back and thru overtime...

$502 is being sent to the car today... like normal. if worse comes to worse... i'll hold off on sending as much cash from paycheck number 2

A positive net worth

I have a positive net worth for this month because my savings is more then my debt...

but after i pay for my apartment, insurance, wisdom teeth, and the like, i'll be back in the negative..

But for now i'm in the positive... woot.

blah i'm venting

I'm going to take a few moments and whine...

i want my car payment to go away!!!!!!!! Life will be so much easier when that POS bill is gone...

okay i'm done... I like my new car... i needed a new one, especially when since i commute to school.... but i'm tired of throwing my paycheck at it. I wish that the balance was lower... or that i didn't have to pay interest on the freaking loan...... or that my savings accounts weren't going to be wiped out in a couple of weeks... ...

By the end of may... i'll only have one account at emigrant that has money in it... and that's tuition... which i'll end up depleating the next month to pay for school....

I guess i'm just in a rut. I wish i could take a magic wand and wipe that bill away... It better be paid in full by December or i'm going to flip.

Vegas and Half.com

So, i told linedancer and My GreekGoddess friend that I'm not going to vegas with them.... Heather wasn't happy, but i think she'll get over it in time. I wish I could go, but I can't justify going out and spending the gas and food money, plus dancing etc when i'm getting my wisdom teeth removed 4 days before... and i'm already planning on just using the gas because I don't have the money to get knocked out because I now need to upfront my yearly car insurance and renters insurance... yikes, eh?

I also called AAA back to double check the quote. =D it is what the guy said it would be... so if i get 1200 together, i'm set for the car insurance... then i'll only need around $200 for renters insurance... I can do it... i'll find a way to do it.

I'm $36.50 closer... just got paid from some sales i made awhile ago on half.com.

I also transfered $49.00 from my tuition account to pay for my internet security renewal.

***crosses fingers*** I can do it... I can do it... right???

Dang it.... Car insurance

When I planned to move out in January, I called AAA and had the nice guy tell me how much my auto insurance would cost....

I'd move it in my name, have the same benifits, etc...

Problem... i'm not moving in January... i'm moving in May and i forgot i'm going to have to upfront an entire years worth of Car insurance and renters insurance... Which i would be fine doing in Jan... with my $100.00 a month payments.... but no... i'm stupid and screwed now... they won't credit the refund from my mother's account to mine... even thought i'm the one who paid my mom... so instead they issue a refund to her...

it's gonna cost $1,400 for both to pay annually... (this of course is an estimate assuming i keep the same coverage as my mom.... with a $250 deductible.... and its only $180 cheaper to have a $500 deductible...) and i have to upfront it all because i pay annually cause its cheaper that way...

I have $400 from my monthly $100 a month insurance bill payments (which was really acurate cause the insurance for my car should be $1200 a year). and it should be between $150-$200 for renters insurance....... ($16 a month not the $30 i thought... which is nice... but that doesn't help me now.)

dang it!!! dang it!!! dang it!!! why can't they issue me a credit??? Okay i'm done complaining... now lets see how i'm going to find $1,000.00 and still keep the auto pay the same way....

  1. If worse comes to worse, i know i have the money... this is a comfort... i can take it from my moving out fund if need be... but then i'm tapped out... [250 security, 850 May's rent, 100 utilities + 850 June, 100 utilites, leaves around $1,000 for the car insurance and reters insurance...] I could still pay the 1200 a month to my car as well... but i would have no money for stuff for the apartment like a microwave and forks and a vacume... and nothing for furniture that we need to get
  2. I can cancell my vegas trip... i just got off the phone with heather... So that's $100.00, i won't send the extra money to the car... 50... i'm getting a credit card check $25 plus i have the approximate $85.00 from my benifits...??? so i need to find $750 .... I have overtime on this friday's paycheck... I can borrow the money from moving out... plus i have 3 shifts this month my boss wants/needs me to work. there's some more OT... and hopefully i can cut back in all my budget areas and funnel the cash into this fund... plus i'm selling my computer to heather and rob for 250... and i'll get the250 in installments... $100 next week....

i'm officially on saving money overload right now and aiming for plan 2... I won't be going to Vegas, or spring formal...

I love how i figure out one crisis... and the next one rolls in....

oh dang...

So.... I think i'm moving out May 1st... how the heck did that happen??? we took a look at the place... ones avilable on the 15th... they hold it for 2 weeks... So May 1st. We said we would move at the end of may if a place became avilable to insure we got one... well after chit chatting, it looks like were moving and shooting for that place........and it becomes May not June.... especially since this place turns over vacant places really fast... so I spent most of Easter packing because i'm house sitting this week and i won't be there... holy cow....

My room at my mom's house is so depressing right now... most of my crap is in boxes, nothing is on the walls... and i had to take down my computer desk because she's getting new windows for the whole house and they needed to get access to the window.........

The sad thing is that moving early May is just going to cause lots of problems because may is sooooo busy.... for everything.... May 1st is blakes birthday... [which means one less mover that weekend]... my birthday is the following tuesday after that, the big 21.... The the next week is finals week..... then mo's birthday, my wisdom teeth removal, and vegas all in the same week to round out the end of may....

holy cow... it's not official but i think i'm moving in 22 days... and i'll have to move in in stages probably...

Financially, I have all the money to move out... My move out account has $3285.88 right now... Assuming we get the place, 250 is my half the security deposit, 850 is my half of the rent, 100 utilies, etc... leaves me with around $2,000 in savings.... so technically i should be able to send 1280 to my car for the month of may.... and use my savings to pay the rent and utilties for that month.... and i'll have a small bit in savings too (700)... but if i can't do that, it really changes the pay off schedule for my auto loan...

right now i owe around $6,000.00. if i still send them what i'm planning on for this month... the debt becomes: $4878.80.... (not including anything extra... just the 1280.00)...

If I can send 1280 in the month of May, it should be $3631.75... and then i'd be on track...

But if anything else goes wrong... or if we need to buy stuff....I won't be able to keep the same debt reduction strategy... and man do i hate having a car payment... you have no idea how much i hate having a car payment right now...

if i can't find the 1280 in the month of may, its just more money i have to get together by december...

guess that whole trying to get more money together in each savings account idea....isn't gonna hold water... but i'm trying to eat what i have in the house because its less stuff to move so that might help with groceries....

Bofa part 2 and moving out

Bofa--> I love them... They are fixing the issue, refunding my money, and are sending the paperworkfor me to sign... so very helpfull.... (i seldom get to compliment them... I like that I can compliment them)

I might be moving out a month earlier. There is an apartment avilable on the First of May at the more expensive apartment complex... since we ruled the cheaper place out... mold... ewwwww

So i went ahead and moved all the retirement money ito my moving out fund... with this next paycheck i will have all my dental money set aside and enough to get me through vegas... Dee won't move in until the end of May, but will pay her half of the rent, etc. I'm getting pretty darn excited... we're looking at the modle today (at another complex because they have no vacant 2 bedrooms... and well look at the actual apartment before we sign any leases..)

***crosses fingers that Dee has credit good enough to work.... I know i'm fine... and my next paystub will be huge to cover the 3X rent requirement.

wish me luck

WHAT THE HELL BOFA

Okay... logged into my checking account at BofA... where i havn't used my debit card since i got that Cash back CC and my Ing Checking account...

I have a charge from something and i didn't do it....... which means i'm going to have to call at 7am when someone gets in their office.... and figure out how the heck happened.

All it says under pending is:

------> CHECKCARD COS SUNRISE FL ON 04/05/2007 $9.80

Anyone know what the heck that is???? i don't.... all i know is that they better remove it... give me my 9.80 back.... i don't care if i have to get a new card..... this is crap...

The only reason i'm keeping my Bofa account is because i'll need paper checks to make my rent payment each month.

it's like I got a raise!

at 5:30am when i turned on my work email... i got this message:

Good morning! In auditing the Benefit Enrollment Forms for 2007, I noticed that your calculations were incorrectly processed at a part-time level instead of full-time. In short, it has been adjusted and it means more money for you! So, there will be an adjustment made on your next check to make up for the incorrect cash benefit given for January, February and March. After that, the correct amount will be given ($268.99 per month instead of $148.99 per month).
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Which means my work shafted me $360.00..... (about 300 after taxes) How much am I short to get my wisdom teeth removed with me being knocked out???? about $300.00..... but who decided not to get knocked out? Me. I figure its a waste of money... i'll have it nummbed and gassed..... that way I don't have to have the surgery on a friday... and then take of Sat and Sun.... then request the following friday, saturday, and sunday off for vegas..... eeek it will never happen! The only time i can do it is as soon as my finals are over with... (cause i'll start that part time job in June.... and then i won't have the luxury of just not working on tues/thurs... which means i'd have to get gassed by default.)

So i'm going to schedule the surgury at like 2pm on Monday may 21st so i don't have to take monday off of work.... i'll recover tuesday.... go back to work wed.... and leave for vegas early early friday...

Ya... vegas screws everything up but i can't bail on heather or rhea... and at least i can figure my meals will be cheaper since i'll be souping it a lot while i'm there... lol....

This news also means that i'm gonna be making about $85.00 more a month when taxes are figured into it.... so lets look at those goals...

Dental--> The extra money from my benifits will cover the costs of gassing and meds... (around $100.00) So i have 200 left over + the 85 from this month

Vegas Vacation--> Half the fun money... and $100 from the extra benifits... so i have 100 left over +the 85 for this month

Relay for life--> My Recycle money... work gas slips... Luminary in honor of my dad ($50.00) and 1/2 the fun (i have $50 +85 for this month)

Pay off my Car--> extra bill money... 1/2 my overtime... plus $50 from benifits...

Moving out--> monthly contributions... 1/2 my overtime

I'm leaving the $85.00 in this months benifits unaccounted for. i have a formal dinner "prom for college" to buy my ticket for (i'm rewearing a dress, doing my own hair... and i have a gift card to get my nails, etc done)... after the ticket... i'll probably put this cash into "moving out"... why there????

Because any money i don't spend in the move out fund... will be put toward my car in a lump sum in the at the end of July... I figure if any expenses pop up, i'll have extra cash (hense the 1/2 the overtime thing even tho i did put aside the amount i wanted to...) to pay them... but i don't want to get rid of the cash and throw it at the car now... and then get shocked when i don't have enough cash later on... and with my loan getting lower... its not too much money in interest that i'm loosing since i'm also gaining interest on the cash that's in there.

I also had to pay my college $150.00.... (out of the tuition fund) but they charged me $600.... so i'll be on the phone with them later on today to get the amount corrected... grrrr.

a walk down memory lane

I went back and was scrolling through older posts... from last year and january... It seems like life was a lot simpler when i was going to move out in January... with a retirement account... and no debt....

now its June... with no retirement account.... a stricter budget... and still with debt... its amazing how life changes practically overnight. My sister was going to move out in June... now shes staying at home with my mom another 2 years, and i'm going to be out if it kills me in June...

It's funny to think about what i was worried about 3-4 months ago... and what i'm worried about today....

Camping and Accounts.. alot about accounts

I got back from camping and had a blast... It cost me around 30 bucks to chip in for food and gas for the trip... (people bailed out so gas contributions had to go up... next time were collecting cash before we go)

So between camping and My anime girl birthday the "unbudgeted money" from left over budgets went by by... I've decided to close that account, and instead i made seperate accounts at ING for Grocery, Basic Necessities, Gas and Auto, and fun. When i move out, i'll add one in there for bills.

My goal is to cut back a little over the months and get enough cash in each of these sub accounts to fund one month of regular spending since my emergency fund is fully funded. It's a new little savings goal i can aim for since my efund is happy at 1,000 for now.

This new savings account system will help me be able to pay rent with the "due on the 1st" mentality. Up till now, i've been paying out the proper amounts each month, but on my time table... like 400 from paycheck 1... 700 from paycheck 2.... That doesn't work in the real world unless i can save a month in advance. but either way i'd like to prepare myself for their time table... just incase. I'd like to get to the point where an entire paycheck can be used to fund all my rent and bills... (either the first or the last). So if i can stock up enough in each of these sub categories, i won't have to worry about not being able to have grocerys etc, until the next paycheck comes, and my emergency fund will become an actual emergency fund... not what i can dip into in the mean time until i'm paid and pay back.

Since i started moving all my money to my ING Checking and then taking the leftovers to a savings account, i've noticed its easier to spend more money because the extra was becoming "budget fudge money." So, I've decided to go back to individual accounts instead of funneling the cash into my Electric Orange. Then as money is spent, i'll put it in the checking account to cover my CC bill from the sub accounts. Ya it's more work on me... but it will help me curb the spending i believe... I also figured it will be easier to get the smaller expenditures together then trying the 1 month in advance of rent thing (ie... Febuary's checks pay for april's rent instead of March's paychecks for April).

[oh and i cancelled the transfer of my retirement funds... i just couldn't do it yet... and that interest should go to retirement, not moving out.]

Here are my new savings goals... theres a lot going on.
  1. Dental--> I have to get my widsdom teeth out... 750 for laughing gas... 1000 to be knocked out. Assuming my paycheck was correct and that unexpected income was correct too... i have $714.59 sitting in my "Dental Hell" account at Emigrant. It would be nice to be knocked out... right now I'm just shooting to have enough to have the surgery with the gas (i'll need $35.41 if my paycheck was right... if not around 250). Any extra money from my Basic Necessities fund at the end of the month is going for dental work (since that's where that kind of stuff normally goes)... plus 1/2 of my overtime.
  2. Vegas Vacation--> need cash while i'm there for food and fun plus gas out there. The gas money i should have no problem... since i normally don't spend the 200 a month allotted for that stuff and i'm carpooling out there. 1/2 my fun account is going for vegas...
  3. RELAY FOR LIFE--> I'm helping out with my work team for relay for life.... I have a personal goal of raising $100.00 for the cause and i'm trying to get more people envolved too. I'm now an outreach minister for my new college group... and i like it.... (there the people i'm gonna help to get envolved in it.) My Recycle money and the money i get from turning in work gas slips will go to my fund raising goal. plus i'm going to get a luminar in honor of my dad. 1/2 the fun account is going to the relay... which isn't until June.
  4. Pay off my Car--> extra bill money... and 1/2 my overtime.
  5. Moving out--> monthly contributions like normal and the interest i get off of it too... Selling on half.com... which has really slowed down a bit... I'm not putting half my ot here because i've saved all the cash i was hoping to so far... and my dental bill is a priority (stay out of more debt) and so is my car... (Since i'm paying freeking interest... and this is debt)

At Emigrant this month i earned $23.15 in interest between the following accounts: (their balances are listed below)

  • Annual Car Insurane bill: $302.21
  • Dental Hell: $714.59
  • moving out: $1859.11
  • Retirement for Dummies: $1,426.77
  • Tuition Savings: $2,919.46

I earned 3.91 from ING

  • Electric Checking: 1,000.00 [my efund]
  • *Gas and Auto Fund: $141.54 [next auto check up will be around 250... plus gas for vegas]
  • *Grocery $1.00
  • *Basic Necessities $1.00
  • *fun $1.00

*i'll float things on my Credit card until i get paid and can put the cash into these accounts so my emergency fund doesn't collapse.

I also have $500 over at Bank of America 450 checking, 50 savings. I'll need that Checking account to pay rent... which means i need to order more checks soon...
